HOW TO CLEANSE YOUR MALA BEADS AND BRACELETS

A mala is more than a string of beads—it’s a spiritual companion, carrying your intentions, mantras, and energy. Just as we refresh our own spirit, malas also benefit from regular energetic cleansing. Here are some gentle, traditional ways to do it:

Moonlight Bath

Place your mala under the glow of the full moon overnight. Moonlight naturally recharges and purifies energy, leaving your beads refreshed.

Smudging with Smoke

Pass the mala slowly through the smoke of sage, palo santo, or sandalwood incense. As the smoke curls around each bead, visualize heaviness or stagnant energy being released.

Cleansing with Sound

Let the vibrations of a singing bowl, a soft bell, or chanting wash over your mala. Sound shifts energy, bringing clarity and renewal.

Breath & Intention

Hold your mala between your palms, close your eyes, and breathe deeply. With each exhale, imagine infusing the beads with light, love, and pure intention.

Crystal Support

Lay your mala on selenite, clear quartz, or another cleansing crystal overnight. These stones naturally amplify and purify energy.

Salt Nearby

Salt is known for absorbing negative energy. You can place a small bowl of natural salt next to your mala while it rests—close enough to cleanse, but without touching the beads directly.

Important: Never soak your mala in water. Wood, seeds (like rudraksha or tulsi), and many crystals can be damaged, cracked, or dulled by moisture.

The most powerful part of any cleansing is your intention. Whether you use moonlight, smoke, sound, or salt, focus on gratitude and renewal, and your mala will stay aligned with your practice.
